How To Join CAP
We are excited you want to become a part of the legacy of the Civil Air Patrol. We offer fun and rewarding opportunities to learn leadership skills and earn real world experience with a focus on exemplifying our Core Values of Integrity, Volunteer Service, Excellence and Respect.
Becoming a CAP member is a process meant to educate future members on our organization and our Mission:
“Supporting America’s communities with emergency response, diverse aviation and ground services, youth development, and promotion of air, space and cyber power.”
Membership Policy: Membership in Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is a privilege, not a right. It is reserved for those individuals who desire to promote the objectives and purposes of CAP and who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in CAPR 39-2. (See CAPR 39-2, para 1.1.)
Volunteer Service: Civil Air Patrol members are not employees of the CAP; they are volunteers who provide their services for the public good without expectation or receipt of salary, pay, remuneration or compensation of any kind. (See CAPR 39-2, para 1.1.1.)
